Astrology 101: Celestial Bodies
The sun is considered a very important part of astrology. It, as well as the moon, are the most important of the astrological planets, and the two of them are often referred to as the luminaries. Astrologically the sun is usually thought to represent the conscious ego, the self and its expression, personal power, pride and authority; leadership qualities; and the principles of creativity, spontaneity, health and vitality; the life force. The sun also involves creative enterprises that are a projection of the person, from art and business to having children and parenthood (especially fatherhood). It also rules the fun side of life from sport and recreation to holidays and social events. In short, any occasion that 'allows us to shine'. The sun is the ruler of the 5th house. The Sun is the planetary ruler of the zodiac sign Leo.
Moon
The Moon is the ruling planet of Cancer and . The Moon is said to represent the feeling nature of the individual. The moon is associated with a person's emotional make-up, unconscious habits, rhythms, memories and moods. It is also associated with the mother, maternal instincts or the urge to nurture, the home, and the past. The moon is used to characterise the inner child within us, as well as the past and how we have been as individuals rather than how we are now. It is also used to represent the perception one has of one's mother, so someone with a Pisces Moon would be more likely to see their mother as a Piscean type, even if in reality that was not the case. In the horoscope the aspects the moon makes with other planets and the transits the slower moving planets make to the moon are all said to have a strong impact on how our lives unfold. The moon is also said to represent receptivity, vulnerability, etc. but this should not suggest that its power is considered less than the sun's. From an astrological perspective (in which we assume, for the sake of argument, that the earth is fixed and everything else moves) the sun and moon are the same size. Astrologically Mercury represents the principles of communication, mentality, thinking patterns, rationality and reasoning, and adaptability and variability. Mercury governs schooling and education; the immediate environment of neighbors, siblings and cousins; transport over short distances; messages and forms of communication such as post, email and telephone; newspapers, journalism and writing, information gathering skills, and physical dexterity. Mercury is the planet of day-to-day expression and relationships. Mercury's action is to take things apart and put them back together again. It is an opportunistic planet, decidedly unemotional and curious.
Venus
Venus is the ruling planet of Taurus and Libra. Astrologically Venus is associated with the principles of harmony, beauty, balance, the feelings and affections, and the urge to sympathize and unite with others. It is involved with the desire for pleasure, sensuality, personal possessions, comfort and ease. Uranus
Uranus is the ruling planet of Aquarius. Uranus among all planets most governs genius. Historically it was associated with the principles of the Enlightenment and radical political ideas of equality and freedom, among other things.
Neptune
Neptune is the ruling planet of Pisces. Astrologically modern Western astrologers associate the planet Neptune with idealism and compassion, but also with illusion, confusion and deception; with religions, spirituality and mysticism, the mass media, creativity in art and music, drugs, extreme sensitivity, fantasy and imagination, psychic phenomena and altered mental states. Neptune governs hospitals, prisons, mental institutions, and any place, such as a monastery, that involves a retreat from society.
Pluto
Pluto is the ruling planet of Scorpio. Astrologically Pluto is called "the great renewer", and is considered to represent the part of a person that destroys in order to renew, through bringing buried, but intense, needs and drives to the surface and expressing them, even at the expense of the existing order. A commonly used keyword for Pluto is "transformation". It is associated with power and personal mastery and the need to co-operate and share with another, if each is not to be destroyed. Pluto governs big business and wealth, mining, surgery and detective work, and any enterprise which involves digging under the surface to bring the truth to light.

Astrology 101: Qualities
The twelve signs of the zodiac are grouped into quadruplicities (four), known as qualities based on how the sign behaves. Each element has one of each of the "qualities." Another name used for these groupings is "modes." The qualities are Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable.

A short story written by yours truly. . .
I woke up this morning feeling kinda sick
I’m looking at the black roses you just sent
To make our love successful you have to be willing to pay the cost
But I guess you weren’t and now our love is lost
This is the dream I didn’t want to come true
But it did and you’re gone, now what am I to do?
I’m all messed up, my mind’s in a whirl
When we first met, you said, “Baby, I need a girl.”
You picked me and we were happy, I thought we had one love
Everything was perfect like it was blessed by God above
Now with my head in my hands I can’t believe this is true
I can’t see my future because I’m walking without you
I called my girlfriends over so they could help me through
They told me eventually I really would get over you
I was well on my way and then you called
But my recovery from you will not be stalled
I guess you miraculously had a sudden change of heart
And recognized the blame was all on your part
You called, you texted, you even tweeted me
The messages you left said holla if ya need me

I take a breath and turn; this is the moment for which I’ve been waiting
I look into his eyes, his gaze is penetrating
His whole aura screams, “I’ll put it on you good and proper.”
I’m mentally breathless cuz this right here’s a panty droppa
He flashed a smile and my center turned molten
All the passion within me was simmering like a cauldron
This tall, dark, handsome man got me ready to commit a sin
I ain’t worried though cuz this situation is a win-win
We exchanged hellos and names; I shivered when he touched my hand
He was warm and strong. Mmmmm, this is a real man
He leaned in closer to whisper softly in my ear
He said, “No disrespect, but I wanna get you outta here.”
How strange is it you pick now to run across my mind?
It just strengthens my resolve to leave you far behind
My decision made I said, “Come on baby, let’s go.”
He leads, I follow as we head towards the door
We’re making idle chit chat talkin’ bout nothin’ in particular
Only thinkin’ bout the sex we gon’ have, hoping it’s vehicular
He signals valet, they go to pull up his ride
It’s a little chilly out; I’m plastered to his side
He retrieves his keys and opens up my door
As I get comfortable he hops in and the pedal hits the floor
We glide through the city headed towards my crib
I’m antsy and squirming – we gon’ get it in
He’s handling this car the way I hope he handles me
Confident, bold, daring – masterfully
He pulls up to the house, we quickly let ourselves in
We stare at each other in silence. Now let the games begin
The first kiss is slow, it evaporates my will power
He’s holding back but he’s ravenous. I feel I’m being devoured
His hands caress me slowly. Softly, yet with purpose
I plan to shatter his resolve and bring his passion to the surface
With very little effort I push him past his limit
The zipper’s stuck on my dress. He’s gonna have to rip it
Frantically undressing we head towards the stairs
We’re bumping into tables and knocking over chairs
We’re reckless and playful. We make it upstairs fast
I pull out my camera and we pose for the flash
I’m sending you this picture of me and him at my place

We make it to the bedroom. I push him down onto the bed
Feeling naughty I said, “Put your hands above your head.”
I reach and get the scarves to tie his wrists onto the posts
His surrender to my passion is what I desire most
He allowed me free reign. I performed til we were satisfied
Now I’ve revved his engine; I’m ready for my ride
I’m scratchin’ him up badly cause the friction feels so nice
Got me singing in soprano like I’m Leontyne Price
The crescendo is building. Our bodies moving to the beat
Like the first bite of a cherry, the explosion’s oh so sweet
Tonight’s outstanding performance is of Oscar-worthy fame
My ovation was so noisy I bet the neighbors know his name
Our bodies intertwine as we descend the highest peak
My mind is in a daze and my body’s feeling weak
I was ready to make luv as proof I’m over you
But it didn’t seem to work and now I’m feeling blue
He senses my regret and tries to comfort me
But I can’t be consoled. Through my tears I cannot see
“Does he do it?” he asks as he gets ready to leave
I said, “He’s the only one.” With that confession I can breathe
As I walk him to the door I start plotting my return
Can I get you to forgive me? That’s my main concern
I know tonight was wrong. Now I’ve seen the light

Astrology 101
Since I started following @ZodiacFacts, @LoveScopes and @Sexstrology I have become slightly obsessed with Astrology. The little tidbits they tweet are appetizing, but just don’t satisfy my insatiable thirst for knowledge about the topic du jour. So, I’m not gonna go all-in and hit you with everything today, but I thought I’d start with the basics:
What is Astrology?
Astrology is a group of systems, traditions, and beliefs which hold that the relative positions of celestial bodies and related details can provide information about personality, human affairs, and other terrestrial matters.
What is a Horoscope?
A horoscope is a chart or diagram representing the positions of the Sun, Moon, Planets and the astrological aspects, and sensitive angles at the time of an event, such as the moment of a person’s birth. In common usage, it is an astrologer’s interpretation, usually through a system of Sun sign astrology.
What is the Zodiac?
The zodiac is the ring of constellations that lines the ecliptic, which is the apparent path of the Sun across the sky over the course of a year. The zodiac denotes those signs that divide the ecliptic into twelve equal zones of celestial longitude.

Aries (The Ram) (cardinal, fire, personal): In astrology Aries is ruled by the planet Mars. The tropical duration of Aries is March 21 to April 19.
